YOGA PRACTICE

Iyengar Yoga is focused on precision, bodily alignment, strength and flexibility. Iyengar Yoga encourages control over mind and body helping students learn to control stress and anxiety.

  • Foundational ‘Hatha’ yoga… The perfect start for beginners.  Prepare for a strong foundation in yoga with carefully sequenced postures, using props such as wooden blocks and belts to help achieve and support the poses.

  • Gentle yoga… Suitable for all levels.  Experience deeper levels of calm and awareness with a gentle guided yoga practice.

  • 50+ Yoga… Emphasis is on reducing stiffness and improving range of motion and balance.

  • Restorative yoga… a therapeutic practice, beneficial for those with chronic ailments or those who wish to reduce stress and replenish energy.

  • Yin yoga… Targets the deep connective tissues of the body such as ligaments, fascia and even our bones and joints.  Long holds are practiced in stillness creating a deep, quiet and meditative practice.

  • Chair yoga…  Specifically designed with the older student in mind.  We choose poses to safely stretch, strengthen, release tension in the body and work on balance.  Each class will finish with a relaxing, restorative pose, for a rejuvenating and enjoyable experience.

IYENGAR YOGA THERAPY
